Grrrrr!
The scale is not my friend. Imagine me stomping my foot, throwing the scale out the front door, or binging on donuts.
Got the picture?
Grrrrr!
Have you ever worked really hard at something, but saw no results?
That is me right now. I have barely had any change in the scale since Christmas Day! Christmas Day!
Yes, you read that correctly. I didn’t say Valentine’s Day. No, I said Christmas Day.
My body is like a three-year-old brat child. It wants to have its way. It wants to hold onto the fact that I’ve stored for so many years. It’s like fat is the comfort zone my body desires. I am literally having to face the lack of change, yet I hold fast and continue to work hard because I know the hard work eventually yields results. But this doesn‘t mean I’m not frustrated with my little enemy—the scale.
I do not want my comfort zone to be FAT! Not anymore. Go away, fat go! Get! You’re not wanted anymore.
The farmer sows a seed, he waters it, he tends to it. He waits in the garden, yet he sees no results for months sometimes. He doesn’t see the fruits of his labor in its fullness for months and even years. I’ve heard it takes about ten years to see the fruit of the cherry tree.
The problem with our culture and our society is that we want quick results. When we don’t obtain the results that we think we should after hours’ worth of work out, we quit. We never really get the opportunity to see what we can actually do.
Instead, we should hold fast even when we see nothing change.
Will you be the one to hold fast no matter what you see? No matter what’s on the scale or what’s going on in your life?
Maybe you’ve been praying for something for a long time and you see no results. Hold fast!
Maybe you’ve been eating healthy but your body is stubbornly holding onto sickness. Hold fast!
Don’t look with your eyes. When you see with only your eyes, your are never more blind.
And don’t grow weary in doing good, for in due time you will reap a harvest. (Read Galatians 6:9!)
Love,
Sheri
